Dakota 38

The Dakota 38 the Largest MASS Execution in US history. Originally 303 Indians were slated for execution. But President Abraham Lincoln felt that number was too high? President Lincoln was okay with Killing 38 Indians however.  Oitancan Zephier from th Yankton Siuox Reservation a Blood decendant of Nape Sni (Cold Hand), case 178 of those trials. He was hung for no reason with the 38. Most Indians were sentenced to Death because they fought in a battle with the US. The American Indian People feel these people were Killed for Nothing!!  This was the FIRST battle in what was to be later called the Indian Wars involving the US against American Indians.
