Some leaders and individuals don’t agree with Indigenous Sound™’s open forum policy for Native Americans. Their are some blogs, post, and Websites that attack me and Indigenous Sounds™™. I will never apologize and Indigenous Sounds™™ will always continue to give a voice to any Native American with something to say. Yes, their some guest even I don’t agree with but I still allow them to speak on Indigenous Sounds™. Censoring these people is not something I believe in, just because they are not a friend or you don’t like they are saying. Because this is the land of the FREE. Free speech is a right all Native Americans! Whether you agree with what they have to say or not! As long as I host Indigenous Sounds™™ I will continue to allow ALL Native Americans to speak freely. A Sarasota, Florida music group was created calling themselves the Indian givers. A song entitled Indian Givers was written and head dresses and face paint is worn for performances. Being a Native American I was very offended by what the Indian givers were doing. I personally contacted Indian givers lead singer Kenra Whyte and asked for the opportunity to talk and explain why the Indian givers were so offensive to Native Americans. I did ask Kenra Whyte to please change the group’s name, stop performing indian givers song, and not to dress as a Native American. Kenra Whyte chose to keep the Indian givers name, dress, and song. Kenra Whyte left me no choice but to notify Native Americans and our supporters throughout the world. Any person or business that promotes or allows the Indian givers to perform will receive calls, any place that allows the Indian givers to perform will be protested, and we will ask people to boycott these businesses. Once again I would like to ask Kendra Whyte to change the Indian givers name, stop singing Indian givers song, and dressing as a Native American.

Why is the name Indian givers so offensive to Native Americans? Indian givers is and has always been offensive to Native Americans. The term Indian givers refers to Native Americans as liars claiming Native Americans give a gift and later wanting the gift back. Wanting gifts back is not a Native American Tradition. The use of Indian givers is offensive since it refers to all Native Americans as liars. The fact that Kenra Whyte chose to write and perform a song about Native American People being liars and the fact that Kenra Whyte chose to purchase a head dress and face paint so she can dress as a Native American is very offensive. The Native American’s that actually do have head dresses are Chiefs and leaders in the Native American community. Kenra Whyte isnot any of those. Native Americans have always objected when someone tries to portray themselves as a Native American. Kenra Whyte should portray the culture she was born into and not attempt to steal and exploit the Native American culture, people, or their traditions. This is just a brief explanation of why Kenra Whyte and the Indian Givers are so offensive. If I were to go into detail, it would be the size of a book.

I am issuing this statement for several reasons- to make Native Americans objection to the Indian givers name, song, and dress official and public record and to be sure that everyone understands I did make attempts to quietly make this situation go away. I have contacted many individuals and businesses about the Indian Givers- explaining how and why the Indian Givers are so offensive to Native Americans and to let them know about the consequences of promoting and allowing the Indian givers to perform. I did learn that later the individual and businesses I visited about the offensive Indian Givers group did object. Yes, this is America and the Indian givers have a right to perform and businesses have a right to allow them to perform. But because this is America, Native Americans have the right to object, boycott, and protest. This has the potential to become very ugly, showing how some in Sarasota are racist and do not care about Native American people, traditions, and culture. It is a shame that Native Americans still have to fight for the equality and basic civil rights that other minorities enjoy. We are in the early years of a new century, lets not let the racism and hatred that dominated the last century continue. As soon as Kenra Whyte contacts me and lets me know that the Indian Givers name, song, and dress no longer exist, so will the Native American’s objections.

I wonder if Mayor Bloomberg and the state of New York has considered what would happen it they win this lawsuit? Yes, the state of New York will gain some revenue from the sale of cigarettes on Native American reservations. But this could also destroy not just the Seneca and Cayuga nations’ reservations but all Native American reservations throughout the United States. Because Native American reservations will no longer exist, they will most likely become the responsibility of the state they reside in. What revenue the state of New York receives from cigarette sales would quickly disappear. The state of New York would have to provide roads, schools, trash collection, police, fire, any and all basic services currently enjoyed by the citizens of New York.

Mayor Bloomberg is also guilty of making some offensive and threatening remarks towards the all Native AMericans. Although he did later apologize, the fact that he would make these statements at all is troubling. Mayor Bloomberg deals with minorities everyday but he does not threaten them with violence! I don’t understand why a state or federal prosecutor did not charge Mayor Bloomberg with 9 million counts of threats of bodily harm. When Mayor Bloomberg made the threat, it was directed at all Native Americans.

We are in the early years of a new century, let’s not repeat the mistakes and hatred directed at minorities that dominated the last century. Mayor Bloomberg, you are in a position of leadership. I ask that your legacy be bringing all people of New York together, not pushing them apart. This Lawsuit is setting precedence and making history- don’t make it about racism and hatred.

We need immediate assistance, this is the outcome from Troy Burdick’s
(Superintendent at the Central California Agency/BIA, located in
Sacramento Calif.) continued efforts to illegally interfere into our
Tribal Governmental Affairs (and the effects of our rightful Tribal
members pleas for assistance, being ignored by the Bureau). We are a
federally recognized Tribe, listed in the Federal Register and in the
Dept. of the Interior/Bureau of Indian Affairs, Tribal Leaders
Directory, Winter 2009.

Because our pleas for help have been constantly ignored, we now have
lost our only piece of tribal property to foreclosure and will be
removed by force on June 17th, 2009 (Elders and children included). We
are asking for your assistance…. if anyone of you that I am
contacting have a way to contact Mr. Salazar or Mr. Echohawk to make
them aware of our crisis…. please do so!!!!!

The “TRIBE” and its legitimate members have vowed to not leave this
property until we have a place to move to. That means we need Mr.
