Chief Arvol Looking Horse will be my guest to discuss 2010 World Peace and Prayer Day.
Following the birth of a White Buffalo Calf in 1994, the Keeper of the White Buffalo Calf Pipe for the Lakota, Dakota, Nakota Nations, Chief Arvol Looking Horse, was directed to honor the Four Directions with ceremony on June 21st. According to Lakota Star Knowledge, the birth of Miracle, a female white buffalo, signaled a time of earth changes and the coming of the mending of the Hoop of All Nations. The Summer Solstice is said to be a powerful time to pray for peace and harmony among all Living Beings. Grandmother Earth’s gifts, the air, water plant, animal and rock nations must be allowed to heal if we are to live in harmony with Her.

All Nations recognize Sacred Sites as Places to gather or perform private ceremony. For countless generations these Sites were honored, cherished and strengthened through ceremony and Our Mother remained healthy. To ensure the lives of future generations for all our relations, we must begin again to honor, cherish and renew Our Mother.

For four years, beginning in 1996, Chief Looking Horse honored June 21st by offering ceremony in the Four Directions. He traveled to Gray Horn Butte in Wyoming (aka Devils Tower), the Cree Nation in Canada, Pipestone Quarry in Minnesota and to Costa Rica. People of all the Nations of the globe were invited to offer ceremony at Sacred Sites. Thousands around the world have responded and began honoring their local Sites. Following the Wopila (Thank-you ceremony) in the “Heart of Everything That Is,” the Sacred Black Hills in 2000, it was decided that Chief Looking Horse must once again offer ceremony to the Four Directions of the globe. He began in Ireland in 2001, South Africa 2002, Australia 2003, and Japan in 2004. In 2005 the ceremony returned to the Black Hills to offer another Wopila on Turtle Island (North America) to complete his commitment to bring about awareness.

We are now promoting to create a mass awareness of all nations, all faiths, one prayer to encourage everyone to take time on June 21st and join in the united prayer/meditation to heal our Grandmother Earth. We will create a world map indicating your effort on this special day that you will join us. Whether it is a Temple, Church Congregation, religious organization or Mosques, if people are gathering in communities, openly upon the earth or Sacred Sites

Also to discuss the current state of the World including the BP gulf oil spill.

Chief Arvol Looking Horse is the 19th Generation Keeper of the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe and the Spiritual Leader of the Great Sioux Nation (all 7 Tribes).

To: Subject: CRISIS AT CVMT - PLEASE CONTACT US AT209 931 4567

To All:

We need immediate assistance, this is the outcome from Troy Burdick’s
(Superintendent at the Central California Agency/BIA, located in
Sacramento Calif.) continued efforts to illegally interfere into our
Tribal Governmental Affairs (and the effects of our rightful Tribal
members pleas for assistance, being ignored by the Bureau). We are a
federally recognized Tribe, listed in the Federal Register and in the
Dept. of the Interior/Bureau of Indian Affairs, Tribal Leaders
Directory, Winter 2009.

Because our pleas for help have been constantly ignored, we now have
lost our only piece of tribal property to foreclosure and will be
removed by force on June 17th, 2009 (Elders and children included). We
are asking for your assistance…. if anyone of you that I am
contacting have a way to contact Mr. Salazar or Mr. Echohawk to make
them aware of our crisis…. please do so!!!!!

PLEASE HELP!!! PLEASE FORWARD THIS INFORMATION ON TO ALL WHO CAN BE OF
ASSISTANCE.

We need to get the attention of Mr. Echohawk or Mr. Salazar,
IMMEDIATELY!!!!

The Tribe has no money and nowhere to go…. we will be forced to
barricade ourselves at the property for local and international news
crews to hear what is happening to our Tribe and how the BIA is
allowing this to happen.

Our Tribe will not go willing on the 17th (we have no where to go) and
we will not allow our Tribal Governmental “Confidential” documents to
be given to INDYMAC BANK. We are asking that someone help us get this
important information to the attention of Mr. Salazar and/or Mr.
Echohawk. The Tribe has been located at this property for over 7 years.
The “TRIBE” and its legitimate members have vowed to not leave this
property until we have a place to move to. That means we need Mr.
Salazar, Secretary of the Interior and/or Mr. Larry Echohawk to CONTACT
US IMMEDIATELY to help resolve this URGENT MATTER/CRISIS.

Again, PLEASE HELP!!!!

http://www.russellmeansfreedom.com/

http://www.russellmeans.com/

The L.A. Times has described him as the most famous American Indian since Chief Sitting Bull and Chief Crazy Horse. Russell Means is a natural leader. His fearless dedication indestructible sense of pride are qualities admired by nations worldwide. His vision is for Indigenous people to be free… Free to be human, free to travel, free to stop, free to trade where they choose, free to choose there own teachers~ free to follow the religion of their fathers, free to talk, think and act for themselvesand then they will obet every law or submit to the penalty. The most difficult lesson of all is to respect your relatives’ visions.

Born on the Pine Ridge Indian reservation in 1939, Russell Means has dedicated his life to American Indian activism and constitutional rights for over three decades. He is widely regarded as the most influential Indian activist and political leader of the later part of the twentieth and into the twenty - first century. A few of the many “first” and accomplishments which can be attributed to Russell Means include the following:

The 1970’s

1970 - Means became the first National Director of the American Indian Movement after founding a branch of AIM in Cleveland.

1970 - The siege of Mt. Rushmore, which catapulted Means to national attention and focused the media on the modern Indian rights movement.

1970 - Led the Thanksgiving Day demonstration at Plymouth Rock in which over 200 Indians seized the Mayflower, painted Plymouth Rock red and observed a national day of mourning.

1972 - Participated in the takeover of the Bureau of Indian Affairs Headquarters in Washington D.C. during the Nixon Administration.

1973 - Directed the legendary siege of Wounded Knee, the most famous Indian insurrection of the twentieth century.

1974 - 76 Hounded by the FBI, the federal government and various state governments for his activism, Means represented himself in twelve criminal trials and won acquittal in each case.

1974 - All the Elders of the Lakotah Sioux Nation, at the 1st International Indian treaty Conference unanimously selected Russell Means as permanent trustee of the International Indian Treaty Council. Russell was further charged with the responsibility of establishing an office at or near the United Nations, in New York City and to oversee all business conducted by that office.

1977 - Assisted in creating the First International Conference pertaining to the sovereign rights of North, Central and South American Indians, which was sponsored by the United Nations in Geneva.

1977 - University Lecture tour of Switzerland.

1978 - Participated in the “Longest walk” in which American Indians walked across the United States from San Francisco to Washington D.C. creating the largest, single-day, peaceful demonstration in Washington D.C. up to that time. As a result, the demonstration succeeded in blocking all anti - Indian legislation in Congress.

1979 - Served one year of a four-year prison sentence in the South Dakota State Prison at Sioux Falls before he was released on parole. The charge was “Riot to Obstruct Justice” following the police riot at the Sioux Falls courthouse. The law under which he was convicted was repealed as unconstitutionally vague BEFORE his sentencing. Pardoned by South Dakota Governor in 2003.

The 1980’s

1980 - Only convict in history to work for a U.S. Senator while serving time. He worked principally on water rights in the State of South Dakota. While on work release Russell held a press conference calling for the Cowboys and Indians to join forces in their respected struggles to keep their lands and their rights. Subsequently, agreed to the formation of the Black Hills Alliance. Through this alliance they fought against President Carter’s plan to turn the nearby five-state area into a national sacrifice area. Also, the Black Hills Alliance lobbied successfully, the SD State Legislature to call for a moratorium on all energy development in the Black Hills.

1981 - Founded Yellow Thunder Camp, a spiritual youth camp in the Black Hills. Means lived there for eight seasons, along with Indians and Whites, in the spirit of returning his people to the Black Hills, the Lakotah Nation’s Holy Land.

1982 - Founded KILI radio station on the Pine Ridge reservation, the first radio station owned and operated by American Indians.

1983 - Attended the United Nations Conference on freezing nuclear development in the world at Prague, Czechoslovakia. Gave two major addresses concerning “Religion and Nuclear Weapons” and the “International Trade Unions and Nuclear Development”.

1985 - At Pine Ridge, led the building of the first independent health clinic on any Indian reservation.

1985 - Russell Means was invited to participate in the first Peace Conference held between the Indians and the Sandinistas of Nicaragua held at the Presidential Palace in Bogotá, Columbia.

1985 - Attended an International Ecumenical conference on Religion held in Tokyo, Japan and Seoul, South Korea where he gave the closing address.

1986 - Means went with a group of North American Indians and one newsman to the Atlantic Coast of Nicaragua at the invitation of the Miskito, Sumu and Rama Indians to investigate and document Sandinista atrocities against the Miskito Indians.
